Welcome to my music page! From time to time, as I have the time, I will try to post any new music of mine here for you to sample. All music of mine that you hear is recorded at home on Pro Tools LE (hooray for the M-Box!) using Gigastudio instrument samples. I hope you enjoy listening!
Miserere Mei 21 June, 2007 This piece was written by Gregorio Allegri in the 1630s and has been played every year since its composition during Easter weekend in the Sistine chapel. Talk about tradition! It’s a beautiful piece. Note especially the Soprano line which soars in the musical stratosphere, first appearing at 1:47. Nocturne No. 2 in C Major 28 May, 2007 I wrote this piece in late 2005 and attempted to write it around an introduction that I had in mind using a half diminished seventh chord. The song is a bit melancholy, but has lighter moments as well. This was assembled using the Gigastudio instrument samples. In the Mood 24 September, 2006 This famous World War II era piece was heard while Sam and I were aboard the U.S.S. Alabama. I think this piece, entitled In the Mood was perfect to help transport us the visitors back in time to the early forties while touring the retired vessel. The story of our trip there can be read on the home page. Fantasia on the South 20 July, 2006 This is a piece I wrote shortly after moving home. It is yet to be completed (like ninety percent of my music) but I have a fair bit here for you to listen to. The name comes from the martial sort of feel that I thought it had, and reflects the somber mood of one who sits and contemplates the fall of the South. Swing 13 July, 2006 I wrote this one for a project at work. In the end it wasn’t used, but I can now say that I got to write music on the clock : ) The challenge set before me was to write something jazzy, in the realm of Henry Mancini. While I used to play jazz quite a bit when I was younger, I’ve never really attempted to compose anything in that style. It’s way outside of my normal writing style, but it was still a blast. I hope you like it. |
